Meet the Founder

Hey there - I'm Emily!

Welcome! I'm so glad you are here.

My name is Emily Helpard (she/her),
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), MACP, BA, SSW,
fellow highly-sensitive + heart-centered human, and the founder of Honest Connections Holistic Wellness.

At the heart of my work is a simple truth: you are a human being first, not a set of symptoms, labels, or problems to be solved. Life often moves at a relentless pace, in this "hustle-culture" of a world we live in, pulling us away from our core and leaving us feeling disconnected from our bodies, our emotions, and our truest selves.

My passion is creating a compassionate, non-judgmental, & grounded space where you can finally slow down, drop the weight of perfectionism, and safely check in with your mind, body, and soul.

My approach to therapy is heart-centered, holistic, and deeply person-centered. I believe that genuine healing happens through authentic + meaningful connection - where you are seen, heard, and met with unconditional kindness. My hope is to work collaboratively to explore what you need in this season of your life.

We will weave together traditional therapeutic practices with mindfulness, gentle self-compassion, acceptance, and somatic awareness, honoring how emotional experiences live within both the mind and the physical body.

This is especially critical when us highly-sensitive folks tend to absorb others' emotions, energies, and are often on high-alert.

I deeply value my ongoing practice of yoga and mindfulness - this, combined with my background in the social services field working with children & families, deeply informs how I hold space for others: with patience, grounded presence, and an appreciation for intentional stillness & showing up as you are.

Whether we are navigating major life transitions, softening anxiety, processing burnout, or learning to quiet the inner critic, I view therapy as an invitation to restore balance and cultivate a gentler, more authentic, compassionate relationship with yourself, embracing your sensitivity one part at a time.

When I'm not in the therapy space, you can find me at home hibernating with a wellness book, podcast, or comedy - or enjoying the great outdoors, attending a live show, and traveling with my partner and our pup.

Stepping into therapy takes courage, but you do not have to navigate this path alone. I invite you to take a deep breath, arrive exactly as you are, and reach out when you feel ready to begin.
